About Franco's

Franco’s Best is a locally owned and operated mom & pop Italian eatery serving great food, draft beer and wine.  The restaurant offers both a hand-crafted seating area for in-house dining and carryout service with delivery options available.
Our mission is to provide the best food, a warm ambiance, genuine service for our guests and to impact our community with meaningful footprints.  We are proud to support local schools by donating free pizza award certificates to student of the next generation.
Franco’s homemade pizza is created from our secret signature dough recipe, topped with freshly made pizza sauce and real whole milk mozzarella cheese.
If you are from New York and miss the BIG slices on thin crust with the smaller rind around the edge, then try a slice of our famous “New Yorker” and see if it “takes you back home”.
Have plans for a romantic date night? Franco’s Best is known for our award winning Alfredo sauce and mouth watering pasta dishes.  Let us become your favorite eatery!
Do you have a game night with friends and family coming up? Franco’s Best offers savory, oven roasted, jumbo chicken wings that the whole group is sure to enjoy!  Our wings come topped with your choice of:  barbecue, teriyaki, kickin’ bourbon, lemon pepper, mango habanero, sriracha, mild, red chili or citrus chipotle sauces. WARNING: These can be highly addictive and you may arm-wrestle over the last wing.

Is your sweet tooth looking to be satisfied? Don’t forget to save room for dessert! Franco’s new Bread Pudding, topped with a delicious butter bourbon sauce, will be sure to complete your meal.
Franco’s began with a lot of nudging from wife Deborah, “Mark has always been the better cook, since the day we married” I thought he missed his calling and should have been a chef.

Franco’s Pizza, LLC is locally owned and operated by Mark Petersen with assistance from his wife, Deborah. Franco’s has it’s origins through an international friendship with friends in Paris, France and Pinerolo, Italy.

Franco's Pizza Owners

Franco’s began serving carry-out and delivery customers in September 2010, and then in late 2015 began table service. Adding several new pasta dishes, and the house made bread pudding for dessert has expanded the dine-in menu, while the catering menu now includes chicken piccata, chicken marsala and Italian beef. Most sauces, like the Alfredo, pizza, marinara, garlic butter, & the butter bourbon sauce are all made from scratch. Much of Mark’s time is spent putting that special touch in everything that is created. Even on Monday, their day off, Mark & Deb can often be found at work refining recipes and working to create new menu items.
The New Yorker, the pie slices are made from, is a New York style pizza that has a thinner crust and a smaller rind around the edge. Just try a New York a slice and see why our customers say, “It’s like going back home for a fresh slice.”
Wings are oven roasted, never fried, and seasoned with a house made spice blend.
Vegetables are fresh, peppers, onions, tomatoes and celery are all cut in-house to insure the freshest taste. Romaine lettuce is chopped, cold water shocked, then spun dry, so the salad will have a crisp crunch and the dressing will stick to the lettuce. (No dressing puddles in the bottom of this salad bowl!)
Try the bread pudding with butter bourbon sauce, it’s addicting!
Franco’s is Lawrenceville’s premiere Italian eatery.  Offering pasta, wings, rib tips, sandwiches & salads using fresh ingredients and made from scratch sauces, Franco’s Best has become known for creating food that excites the palate. As one New Yorker put it, “Wow, you’ve got the Brooklyn Pizza beat!”

Quality Ingredients

The Petersens care about the quality of their products. All of the vegetables come in fresh, which the owners and their staff cut, chop and julienne by hand. Each time they chop Romaine lettuce, they shock it in cold water to keep the greens fresh and crisp. They have also been through more than 10 different types of olives finding the right ones.

“You think all olives are the same,” Deb Petersen said. “You’d be surprised that they’re not.”

Things you might not know: Deb Petersen shakes every student’s hand when they come in with a certificate for a pizza.
